摘要: The development and usage of two companion NIH-funded genetic testing information databases, GeneTests (www.genetests.org) GeneClinics (www.geneclinics.org), now merged into one web site, reflect the steadily increasing use expanding audience for information. Established in 1993 as Helix, a genetics laboratory directory approximately 110 listings, has grown database over 900 tests inherited diseases, 500 international laboratories, 1,000 U.S. clinics, resource educational/teaching materials reports summary test data. GeneClinics, founded 1997 an expert-authored, peer-reviewed, disease-specific knowledge base relating to patient care, steadily, containing 130 peer-reviewed full-text entries diagnosis, management, counseling specific diseases.
