摘要: Recurrent drought and late blight disease are the major factors limiting potato productivity in northwest Ethiopian highlands. Incorporating tolerance resistance same genotypes will enable development of cultivars with high stable yield potential under erratic rainfall conditions. The objectives this study were to assess combining ability effects gene action for tuber traits related International Potato Centre's (CIP's) advanced clones from resistant breeding population B group 'B3C2' identify promising parents families cultivar development. Sixteen crossed two sets using North Carolina Design II. resulting 32 evaluated together five checks 12 parental a 7 x lattice design water regimes replications. experiment was carried out at Adet, Ethiopia well-watered stressed conditions terminal imposed bulking stage. results showed highly significant differences between families, checks, growth, physiological, traits. Traits including marketable yield, number, average weight groundcover positively correlated total both Plant height only condition. GCA more important than SCA weight, plant height, groundcover, chlorophyll content stress. This identified best combinations effects, new is shown be valuable genetic resource variety selection improvement potato's adaptation prone areas similar environments.
