摘要: The capsular antigens of Escherichia coli causing extraintestinal infections have been analyzed extensively. K1 antigen which is identical with the Neisseria meningitidis B [1] has described by McGuire and Binkley [2] Orskov et al. [3]. We recently reported structures K2, K5, K12, K62 K82 ([4-7]; Schmidt, M.A. Jann, K., in preparation). During our study we found that these K antigens, are all acidic polysaccharides, tend to aggregate aqueous solutions. aggregation could be abolished Triton X-100, very mild acid hydrolysis treatment alkali. These results indicated polysaccharides contain a lipid moiety labile linkage. report here characterization polysaccharide analysis I2 antigens. was shown phosphatidic acid. preparation this manuscript similar studies were Gotschlich [8] concerning polyneuraminic also K92 E. coli. Our agreement those show termination phospholipid seems general structural feature. 2.1. Bacteria cultivation
