摘要: It is well known that fluid mixing can often be improved by the introduction of ‘baffles’ into flow – problem baffle placement examined here for chaotic a highly viscous fluid. A simple model planetary mixer, with one stirring element, modified or more stationary baffles. Regular regions poor in unbaffled are shown to significantly reduced size if location baffles chosen so necessarily generates ‘topological chaos’. By contrast, positioning superficially similar ways do not generate such chaos’ fails provide improvement.
