摘要: One of the key factors for success orthodontic treatments is patients’ compliance to prescriptions doctors, especially when removable appliances are used. However, at current state art, there no standard techniques measuring how long patients use prescribed appliance. Moreover, also force exerted by appliance on patient not directly measured. This paper describes two different sensors prototypes, based pressure resistive transducers and strain gauges respectively, that measure traction in range between 5 30 N. The prototypes have been calibrated with a purposely designed experimental setup. Results show higher accuracy strain-gauge device measurements, has uncertainty 0,23 N case half bridge configuration, against value 6,7 sensitive resistors. time which mask worn can be successfully measured pressure-based setup, although location positioning setup must carefully chosen.
