摘要: This study aimed to explore the relationship between antioxidant enzyme activities and neurological soft signs (NSS) in a sample of patients with schizophrenia. Sixty clinically stable schizophrenia treated mostly by first-generation antipsychotics 30 matched healthy controls were recruited. NSS assessed two groups standardized examination (Krebs et al., 2000). The red blood cell (RBC) superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) catalase (CAT) measured spectrophotometry. RBC all enzymes studied: SOD, GSH-Px CAT, significantly lower compared control group. All scores higher controls' scores. In patients, negative correlation was found SOD activity total score motor coordination integration sub-scores. association low as marker oxidative stress schizophrenic suggests common pathological process these abnormalities.
