摘要: Abstract To understand speech, listeners need to be able decode the speech stream into meaningful units. However, coarticulation causes phonemes differ based on their context. Because is an ever-present component of stream, it follows that may exploit this source information for cues identity words being spoken. This research investigates development listeners’ sensitivity below level phoneme in spoken word recognition. Using a looking-while-listening paradigm, adults and 2- 3-year-old children were tested either matched or mismatched target. Both predicted upcoming anticipatory make decisions about identity. The overall results demonstrate are fundamental children’s recognition system. did not show same resolution as mismatching competitor inhibition, indicating processing systems still developing.
