摘要: Naringin, a major active flavonone glycoside from traditional Chinese medicine Huajuhong, has been demonstrated to have activities such as peripheral antitussive, mucoregulator and anti-inflammatory. The purpose of this study was elucidate the metabolism mass balance orally administered naringin in rats dogs. After oral administration dogs at doses 42 mg/kg 12.4 mg/kg, respectively, metabolites excreta were identified using LC-Q-TOF system. including naringin, total naringenin (including free its conjugates) 4-hydroxyphenylpropionic acid quantified by LC-MS/MS Twenty-two 17 detected rats. observed routes hydroxylation, methylation, acetylation, hydrogenation, deglycosylation, dehydrogenation, glucuronidation, sulfation, glucosylation, ring-fission, oxidation, glycine conjugation dehydroxylation. On basis these metabolites, comprehensive metabolic pathway proposed. About 21% recovered rat form acid, about 60% dog excreta. levels higher than those naringenin, excreted more through feces, rather urine. Most within 36 h post dose. results excretion studies provide an explanation for future pharmacological toxicological findings are groundwork clinical studies. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
