摘要: Abstract Purpose: The metabolic and neurologic functional effects of regional hypothermia induced by cold (4° C) heparinized saline perfusion on spinal cord ischemia were evaluated in 35 rabbits. Methods: Spinal was for 20 minutes infrarenal aortic occlusion anesthetized animals. Regional obtained perfusing the lumbar arteries supplying through an catheter. "snap frozen" situ with liquid nitrogen harvested immediately at conclusion ischemic period or after 24 hours normothermic reperfusion observation. studies included determination energy charge intracellular concentrations adenosine triphosphate, glucose, lactate, glutamate, aspartate. Results: Postoperative function normal all but one animal treated hypothermia, while resulted paralysis animals ( p = 0.002). temperature during hypothermic decreased from 37.5° ± 0.43° C to 22.8° 0.00° 0.0001) compared a fall systemic 38.8 36.1 0.0001). Hypothermia reduced decline charge, triphosphate concentration glucose had no effect markedly elevated levels lactate acid. High-energy phosphates restored both not predictive postoperative paraplegia. Intracellular glutamate aspartate unchanged paralyzed increased remained mildly abnormal examination result. Conclusions: We conclude that is simple technique prevents paraplegia preserves important metabolites. (J VASC SURG 1994;19:332-40.)
