Long-term radiological findings following reconstruction of the condyle with fibular free flaps.

摘要: Abstract Aim: Fibular bone grafts are considered as one of the best choices for reconstruction condyle. However, little data available on remodelling after such reconstruction. The purpose this study was to evaluate long-term radiological outcome . Patients and Methods: Eleven patients underwent condylar with a free fibular transplant. In all cases end graft placed into glenoid fossa under intact temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disc. Evaluation consisted digital width length measurement fibula panorex studies Results: Remodelling neocondyle found rounding off narrowing transplant Conclusion: most likely explanation these changes is fact that TMJ disc preserved
