Comparison of fragmentation modes for the structural determination of complex oligosaccharides ionized by matrix‐assisted laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry

摘要: Fragment ions from underivatized N-linked oligosaccharides ionized by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry were obtained spontaneous fragmentation on a magnetic sector spectrometer, post-source decay (PSD) reflectron time-of-flight (TOF) instrument and collision-induced dissociation fitted with an orthogonal-TOF analyser. Spontaneous the produced mainly glycosidic cleavage together two abundant formed cross-ring of reducing-terminal residue. The PSD spectra similar, majority being cleavage. Internal fragment abundant. High-energy spectra, recorded analyser, differed considerably other types particularly in appearance major cleavages most constituent monosaccharide residues. These allowed much sequence branching information to be oligosaccharide.
