摘要: Signalized intersections are the interrupted traffic flow facility in a roadway network. The efficiency of operations at signalized intersection is expected to improve during inter-green intervals. To quality service an control devices used widely over world. time intervals defined for signal operation help reduce severe conflicts, delay, and driver’s decision making turns. present study evaluates performance under with without countdown timer (SCT) conditions based on field data collected two Hyderabad city, India. vehicles speeding behavior drivers complying regulation also analyzed different conditions. It has been found that average approaching speed red-light violations be changed due changes startup loss calculated was decreased when SCT inactive. A significant increase capacity observed active. measures such as delay queue lengths estimated approaches were influenced presence STCs. finds effective device can enhance safety operational intersection.
