R&D of HTS power cable and fault current limiter in Super-ACE project

摘要: Abstract Super-ACE (superconducting AC equipment) project started as a national in 2000 fiscal year. This is R&D of the basic technologies high temperature superconducting (HTS) cable, HTS fault current limiter (FCL), magnet for reactor and transformer. Main subjects are to study magnet, analysis power system integrated these equipment. paper describes background, target, experimental results from till now future activities 2002 2004. The major items design philosophy, manufacturing method, testing method 500 m cable with single core, 3 kA conductor 6.6 kV FCL using super–normal transition, 66 thyristor bridge circuit. introducing effects urban area network introduce Cable FCL. We concluded that expected supreme technology innovate transmission if established, it takes at least 10 years realize commercial stage.
