摘要: Background: von Hippel–Lindau (VHL) inactivation is common in sporadic clear cell renal carcinomas (ccRCC). pVHL part of the ubiquitin ligase complex that targets alpha subunits hypoxia-inducible transcription factor (HIF) for degradation under well-oxygenated conditions. In absence wild-type pVHL, as observed VHL patients and most ccRCCs, constitutive upregulation HIF results transcriptional activation angiogenesis-related genes, such VEGF. Differences angiogenic activity within group ccRCCs were reported strong genotype-phenotype correlations found with disease, raising a question about importance status behaviour tumour progression.
