摘要: Methylglyoxal (MG), a cytotoxic by-product produced mainly from triose phosphates, is used as substrate by glyoxalase I. In this paper, we report on the estimation of MG level in plants which has not been reported earlier. We show that concentration varies range 30-75 microM various plant species and it increases 2- to 6-fold response salinity, drought, cold stress conditions. Transgenic tobacco underexpressing I showed enhanced accumulation resulted inhibition seed germination. overexpressing transgenic tobacco, levels did increase compared untransformed plants, however, with addition exogenous GSH there was decrease both plants. The application reduced WT 50% whereas 5-fold observed. These studies demonstrate an important role along maintaining under normal abiotic
