摘要: Statement of problem Removal large amounts sound tooth structure may result in a weakened restored tooth. Nevertheless, removal for cuspal coverage has been recommended to protect teeth with laboratory-processed composite resin (LPCR) from fracture. Purpose The purpose this study was evaluate the influence different cavity preparation designs on fracture strength and modes LPCR. Material methods Ninety anatomically similar human third mandibular molars were selected. There 2 experimental factors, occlusal isthmus width (narrow versus wide) (inlay, 1-cusp onlay, 2-cusp all-cusp onlay), 1 control group that received no treatment, resulting 9 groups (n=10). Indirect (SR Adoro) restorations manufactured adhesively cemented Adper Single Bond Rely-X ARC. A compressive loading test (0.5 mm/min) performed. classified according 4 categories. One-way 2-way ANOVA followed by Tukey-HSD used statistically analyze load data (α =.05). Results statistical analysis failed show significant differences among but showed between these ( P = .001). Two-way any difference when considering alone .98), .273), or interaction factors .972). Several had fractures affecting great amount both restoration structure. Conclusions This vitro having modes, suggesting tested designs, there is advantage LPCR
