摘要: BACKGROUND Eosinophils are the principal effector cells involved in pathogenesis of allergic rhinitis. Cell numbers increase non-allergic rhinitis patients with eosinophilia, aspirin hypersensitivity and nasal polyposis, as well patients. Exfoliative cytology can be used differential diagnosis OBJECTIVE To evaluate eosinophilia smears mild, persistent intermittent METHODS The study comprised 60 20 healthy volunteers. were divided into groups. Nasal smear status, eosinophil Total Symptom Scores compared. RESULTS results pathological 40 patients, which was significantly higher than rate controls. mean score group (p = 0.029). There a positive correlation between Score (r 0.652; p < 0.05) CONCLUSION test is inexpensive, objective simple to perform, should part diagnostic investigation.
