摘要: Eosinophils are the principal effector cells involved in pathogenesis of allergic inflammation. We conducted a study to investigate validity nasal smear examination for detecting eosinophilia patients with rhinitis. Our group was made up 50 rhinitis and age- sex-matched controls without Smears were obtained from secretions both groups then fixed, stained, studied under light microscopy. Statistical analysis revealed that odds ratio positivity smears 25.61 95% confidence interval 8 78. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative value this test 74, 90, 88, 77%, respectively. conclude is highly specific moderately sensitive diagnosing rhinitis, it therefore can be used as an easy, noninvasive, inexpensive procedure screening conducting epidemiologic studies disorder.
