摘要: Efficient tuberculosis (TB) control depends on early TB prediction and prevention. Solution to these tasks requires knowledge of protection correlates (TB CoPs), i.e., laboratory markers that are mechanistically involved in the which allow determine how well an individual is protected against or efficient candidate vaccine is. The search for CoPs has been largely focused different T-helper populations, however, data controversial, no reliable still known. Here we discuss role populations focusing predominantly Th17, "non-classical" Th1 (Th1*) "classical" (cTh1) populations. We analyze differ besides their effector activity suggest hypothesis that: (i) links protective potential Th1*, cTh1 differentiation degree plasticity; (ii) implies roles response vaccination, latent infection (LTBI), active TB. One clinically relevant outcomes this over-stimulating T cells during vaccination biasing cell toward preferential generation not beneficial. review sheds new light problem will help develop better strategies control.
