摘要: Recently it has been recognized that there is a need of investigating in detail the vitamin D synthesis and metabolism directly skin with respect to its possible autocrine paracrine actions. The potential effects active metabolite exerts pathological conditions like psoriasis needs be clarified. Under ultraviolet B (UVB) irradiation can autonomously synthesize, activate degrade D. In this pilot case study, we used for first time Time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry (ToF-SIMS) analysis biopsies from patient before after UVB phototherapy. We were able visualize D3 metabolites subcutaneous tissue. At same information about their localization at subcellular level morphology was received. This study proves ToF-SIMS promising powerful tool when D´s role dermatological diseases through biopsies.
