摘要: Abstract The crystal structure of the A -site deficient perovskite Ln 1/3 NbO 3 ( =Nd, Pr) at room temperature has been determined, for first time, as orthorhombic in space group Cmmm using high-resolution neutron powder diffraction. Pertinent features are alternation unoccupied layers -sites and partly occupied by cations, well out-of-phase tilting 6 octahedra around an axis perpendicular to direction cation/vacancy ordering. phase transition behaviour Nd also studied situ. This compound undergoes a continuous 650 °C tetragonal P 4/ mmm due disappearance octahedral tilting. analysis spontaneous strains shows that this is tricritical nature.
