Claims were verified by expired-air carbon monoxide measurement. Nearly all successful abstainers able achieve 48-hr their first week gum. This finding suggests that gum is best used help smoker quit abruptly, rather than as aid tapering-off strategy. study's intervention appears provide relatively low-cost method improving success rates among smokers who wish quit.
