摘要: Analysis of previously published sets DNA microarray gene expression data by singular value decomposition has uncovered underlying patterns or “characteristic modes” in their temporal profiles. These contribute unequally to the structure Moreover, essential features a given set profiles are captured using just small number characteristic modes. This leads striking conclusion that transcriptional response genome is orchestrated few fundamental change. both simple and robust, dominating alterations genes throughout genome. modes change environmental perturbations similar such distant organisms as yeast human cells. analysis reveals regularities seemingly complex transitions diverse cells new states, these provide insights into operation genetic networks.
