摘要: Simulated learning activities are increasingly being used in health professions and interprofessional education (IPE). Specifically, IPE programs frequently adopting role-play simulations as a key approach. Despite this widespread adoption, there is little empirical evidence exploring the teaching processes embedded within type of simulation. This exploratory study provides insight into nature these through use qualitative methods. A total 152 clinicians, 101 students 9 facilitators representing range professions, participated video-recorded role-plays debrief sessions. Videotapes were analyzed to explore emerging issues themes related simulated experience. In addition, three focus groups conducted with subset participants perceptions their educational experiences. Five emerged from data analysis: enthusiasm motivation, professional role assignment, scenario realism, facilitator style background team facilitation. Our findings suggest that program developers need be mindful five when using an context point importance deliberate skilled facilitation meeting desired outcomes.
