摘要: BACKGROUND Hypercholesterolemia is one of the major modifiable risk factors for atherosclerosis coronary and carotid arteries. Although transcranial Doppler (TCD) studies cerebral arteries are indicative decreased blood flow velocities in patients with hypercholesterolemia, number these has been limited. The aim this study was to assess hemodynamic status hypercholesterolemia using TCD. METHODS In a case-control study, 60 individuals, including 30 hypercholesterolemic cases (low-density lipoprotein [LDL] > 160 mg/dL) healthy controls were enrolled. Other arterial factors, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, smoking, obesity (body mass index 30), evaluated matched as well. TCD used hemodynamics intracranial well internal mean velocity, pulsatility index, resistance recorded all RESULTS not significantly different between two groups (P 0.05). However, those higher levels LDL (>180 showed lower velocity than controls. addition, individuals high-density (HDL) does seem have detrimental effect on HDL, parameters arteries, surrogate peripheral prominent.
