摘要: Abstract Since its introduction, the Need for Closure (NFC) Scale ( Webster & Kruglanski, 1994 ; revised by Roets Van Hiel, 2007 ) has been frequently used in psychological research. However, given scale’s substantial length, researchers often abridged, ‘idiosyncratic’ versions selecting a number of items on seemingly arbitrary grounds, without reporting or validating their item selection. The present study aims to meet apparent need an empirically validated abridged NFC scale. Based data obtained from aggregated heterogeneous sample (N = 1584), we propose 15-item selection comprising three each facet Comparison full and reduced scales revealed similar psychometric properties correlations with third variables. brief scale provides useful tool assessing construct when practical considerations prohibit use original 42-item 41-item version.
