摘要: Abstract Selective left ventricular hypoplasia is a recognized feature of congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH). It speculated that the herniated viscera act as space occupying lesion inhibit normal cardiac development. The purpose this study was to determine effect two separate fetal surgical interventions on subsequent development in CDH. CDH lambs were created at 80 days gestation and underwent either tracheal ligation (CDH + TL) or repair repair) 110 gestation. At term (141 gestation) hearts harvested fixed 4% paraformaldehyde solution. Anatomic dissections performed component heart weights determined. Fresh specimens analyzed for DNA protein content. All are expressed grams/kilogram body weight all data mean ± SEM. measurements compared control tissues. There seven lambs, five TL lambs. no differences (kg) between CDH, TL, repair, littermates. have significantly decreased total (4.88 .25* vs 6.75 .49,P
