摘要: In a study designed to evaluate the effects of an educational program and antibiotic order form on quality antimicrobial drug use, prospective analysis was conducted in department internal medicine 948-bed university hospital. Following quality-of-use review all consecutive courses drugs prescribed during four weeks, introduced. After years, identical performed. first review, 109 (31%) 347 patients were drugs. Only 40% prescriptions considered definitely appropriate, 13% unjustified. There certain degree underutilization, only 67% clinical isolates susceptible empirical therapy. performed after intervention, 164 (21%) 796 given Defined daily doses per 100 bed days increased from 59.8 72.6. Fifty-three percent judged optimal, 9% Ninety one year, compliance with forms voluntary basis reached 77%, documenting 86% costs. As result, will be useful for surveillance, if logistic support is provided by pharmacy. The combination several measures leads improved use. correctly predicted evaluation, improvement resulted consumption fewer higher cost day.
