摘要: All kinetoplastid parasites, including protozoa such as Leishmania species, Trypanosoma brucei, and cruzi that cause devastating diseases in humans animals, are flagellated throughout their life cycles. Although flagella were originally thought of primarily motility organelles, flagellar functions other critical processes, especially sensing signal transduction, have become more fully appreciated the recent past. The membrane is a highly specialized subdomain surface membrane, proteins likely to be components for all biologically important roles flagella. In this review, we summarize discoveries relevant these identification proteins, investigation biological functions, mechanisms selective trafficking membrane. Prospects future investigations current unsolved problems highlighted.
