摘要: Summary We previously showed that cor15 , a cold-regulated gene from Arabidopsis thaliana encodes 15 kDa polypeptide designated COR15. Here we report COR15 has potent cryoprotective activity in an vitro cryoprotection assay. Specifically, was very effective protecting the cold-labile enzyme lactate dehydrogenase against freeze-inactivation; on concentration basis, it about 10 6 times more than sucrose and 2 –10 3 other proteins including bovine serum albumin. The possible role of cold acclimation is discussed.
