摘要: Background & objectives: Although depression is a significant co-morbid condition in chronic illnesses, little known about the prevalence or risk factors for depressive symptoms patients with obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) India. This study was undertaken to investigate presence and of COPD attending tertiary care health facility north Methods: classified according GOLD stages based on forced expiratory volume one second (FEV 1 ) 126 stable patients. Depression examined by administering nine-item Hindi version Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9). Linear regression model used examine association between predictor variables adjustment age sex. Cronbach alpha calculated assess internal consistency PHQ-9. Results: In population as whole, 33.3 per cent showed moderate severe whereas 20.6 had major disorder PHQ-9 Scale. Educational occupational status, body mass index, FEV , respiratory symptoms, physical impairment dyspnoea were found be potential predictors Interpretation conclusions: One fifth related depression, which especially higher severity COPD.
