摘要: Abstract Objective To examine the relationship between professional expression of empathy and agreement about decisions made in consultation. Methods Consultations 86 individuals with diabetes four dieticians were audio-recorded. Immediately following consultations patients independently reported a booklet. Audio-recordings coded directly for using an amended version empathic communication coding system (ECCS). Results Empathy correlated significantly patient consultation ( τ =.283, p =.0005). Multiple regression analysis indicates that each dietician greater higher level =.008). Conclusion support hypothesis will result consultations.
