摘要: The structural and functional complexity of the kidneys presents numerous challenges in assessing renal status. are sensitive to events such as exposure chemicals, low perfusion, immune system activity, prerenal pathological conditions, diabetes, each which may affect structure function distinct ways. Recent studies have demonstrated that several urinary biomarkers more useful indices for detecting nephrotoxicity than conventional circulating biomarkers, blood urea nitrogen creatinine. Some these include kidney injury molecule-1 (KIM-1), neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL), albumin (uALB), cystatin C (Cyst C), clusterin (CLU), total protein (uTP). These advantage over because sample collection their assessment is noninvasive. A panel compared a single biomarker, likely detect important changes give rise richer description impairment. This chapter describes emerging biomarkers.
