摘要: A reduction in the loss and waste of human food is a global issue for addressing poverty hunger poorer nations, reducing environmental footprint agriculture sector. An emerging issue, however, that wasted by humans often accessible to wildlife, affecting wildlife ecology behaviour, as well ecological processes community dynamics. Here we highlight extent such impacts, drawing on examples from mammalian predators other taxonomic groups. We then develop two conceptual models. The first shows how access can exacerbate human-wildlife conflicts. second highlights when removed, effects ecosystem should be monitored. models are important considering large quantities intentionally unintentionally provided around world. conclude there an urgent need change way people currently manage produce.
