摘要: Summary Introduction Scedosporium spp. have been observed with increasing frequency over the last decade in immunocompromised patients and trauma patients. This mould is often multi-drug resistant its mortality rate remains very high. Aim The primary goal of this study was to obtain data concerning vitro susceptibility 13 strains comparing incubation aerobic versus hyperbaric conditions. Materials methods Chemosensitivity thirteen evaluated after a 72 h-incubation normoxic (21% O 2 ) normobaric (1 ATA) atmosphere hyperoxic (100% (2–3 ATA), re-incubation at room temperature for an additional 72 h. Results All S. apiospermum S. prolificans showed no growth atmosphere. However, when plates were then maintained conditions, systematically from 36 96 h, Minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) values same obtained Conclusions These results suggest impressive fungistatic activity atmosphere, even if effect strictly time-dependent. preliminary has potential clinical relevance because it focuses on examining combination therapy using conditions plus single antifungal agent, rather than combinations different drugs, potentially increase activity.
