摘要: The phenothiazine compounds chlorpromazine and trifluopherazine are antipsychotic agents that exhibit antimicrobial activity against bacteria, some protozoa yeasts. Data of filamentous fungi lacking. in vitro postantifungal effect (PAFE) was determined Aspergillus species, zygomycetes Scedosporium species. In susceptibility testing performed with CLSI M38A the PAFE previously established methods. Both drugs inhibited growth all tested at concentrations 16 to 64 microg ml(-1). For species mean 3.7 4.7 h; for zygomycetes, 3.1 3.4 Scedosporium, 4.3 5.3 h trifluoroperazine respectively. These first shown induce Scedosporium. We show have antifungal a broad range fungal pathogens. Although exact mechanism action is unknown, further studies needed explore clinical usefulness compounds.
