摘要: Abstract The effect of Na + , Ca 2+ Ba and La 3+ on the ζ potential calcite was investigated. Variations in lead to a changed aggregation behavior under shear concentrated dispersions though changes were moderate. This change characterized by measuring yield stress. Adding salt influences electrostatic interactions between particles leads shear-induced aggregation. structure formed at low rates assumed be partially or completely destroyed when increased. disintegrated partly reconstructed upon lowering rate. reduced relaxation not clearly observed for TiO 2 investigated J. Gustafsson (unpublished data). salts added chosen investigate influence cationic charge colloidal stability flow. For pure screening as expected. two divalent cations, showed similar adsorption behavior. Up certain concentration they caused an increased potential, result specific adsorption, after which it decreased. Particularly there is striking correlation Overall these four ions fit well into general behavior, with monovalent sodium showing weakest trivalent lanthanum strongest effect.
