摘要: Abstract Although glucocorticoid and thyroid hormones are known to act synergistically stimulate surfactant production, they have opposite effects on other parameters of fetal lung maturation. We recently reported that the developmental increases in de novo fatty acid synthesis glycogen accumulation rat were accelerated by dexamethasone but prevented triiodothyronine dexamethasone-induced diminished when two administered together. now examined maternal administration these activities enzymes metabolism rat. There was a increase fatty-acid synthase activity between 19 21 days gestation. This increased decreased triiodothyronine. When together stimulatory effect from 56% 29%. The also observed explants cultured presence dexamethasone. shows hormone directly lung. Dexamethasone had no liver synthase. decrease acetyl-CoA carboxylase it not affected hormones. These data show hormone-induced changes mediated there 6-phosphofruc-tokinase, phosphorylase activities,
