摘要: OBJECTIVE To determine whether implementation of the Cerner FirstNet electronic medical record system was associated with any change in emergency department (ED) performance. DESIGN, SETTING AND PATIENTS A retrospective observational study conducted during a 6-03 period 2009 after introduction and corresponding control 2008 when Emergency Department Information System (EDIS) operational. Data from all patients presenting to ED each were extracted analysed for changes key performance indicators (KPIs). Potential confounding variables, including total number presentations, occupancy, staffing levels triage category distribution, also collected. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES Waiting time patients; waiting time, treatment discharged ED; proportion who did not wait be seen by doctor (DNW rate); ambulance offload times longer than 30 minutes. RESULTS We found reduction respect KPIs system. There increases (median, 40 min v 78 min), 49 87 128 147 min) 214 280 ED. DNW rate (8.3% 15.6%) minutes (10.5% 13.3%). All differences statistically significant (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION Implementation deterioration KPIs.
