摘要: Abstract PURPOSE: To compare, in paired eyes of open-angle glaucoma patients and suspects, hydrodynamic visual changes after 1 month topical latanoprost one eye unoprostone the other. DESIGN: Single-center, institutional randomized clinical trial. METHODS: After completing a washout period off all medication, 25 adults (mean age 54 ± SEM 2 years) with bilateral or suspect status underwent morning (8 to 10 am) afternoon (1 3 pm) measurements intraocular pressure (IOP), pulsatile ocular blood flow (POBF), contrast, sensitivity, frequency doubling technology, Humphrey 10-2 perimetry (HVFA II) both eyes. Each then started 0.15% (Rescula) randomly assigned 0.005% (Xalatan) Unoprostone was administered at 8 am pm placebo am, from masked bottles. 28 days, differences were determined for each measured variable by two-tailed t test. RESULTS: Starting similar baseline IOP levels, treatment, mean values differed according agent received (16.2 0.6 mm Hg vs 17.9 0.7 unoprostone; P = .001). These pressures 2.6 lower than receiving ( .02). Afternoon 3.1 corresponding latanoprost, 2.4 unoprostone-treated .04). Eyes showed 1.7-db improvement deviation .03), only significant function change observed. Pulsatile increased 30% relative .05) day 28. That afternoon, POBF had .03) among those (interdrug difference, .05). contrast sensitivity remained stable prostanoids. CONCLUSIONS: Both produced reductions increases POBF, central perimacular function. Latanoprost once daily reduction nearly twofold greater obtained twice daily. between statistically significant.
