摘要: In studying equality, the question is not just whether people prefer equality or not, but conditions under which they will be willing to accept departures front of opportunity in order obtain outcome. Rawls has recently argued that should more likely do so an "original position" know themselves advantaged disadvantaged society. The present study asked 80 three-person groups undergraduates judge equal and unequal task assignments for their groups. All knew members differed ability, only half who was high low. assignment resulted a net gain high-ability person half, low-ability person, either without cost anyone, at expense other end distribution. Knowledge positions made no difference when subjects were considering inequalities would anyone anything, benefit substantial inequality person. this case, much endorse did than did. It suggested that, where possible, we ask make moral decisions before with certainty own standing outcome situation.
