摘要: Abstract Magnetic polystyrene nanospheres with high magnetite content and abundant surface carboxyl groups were prepared by emulsifier-free emulsion polymerization in the presence of aqueous magnetic fluid coated oleic acid 10-undecenoic as primary secondary surfactants respectively. The effects initiator concentration, type (water-soluble or oil-soluble), monomer concentration ferrofluid on particle characteristics such size, morphology, properties number investigated. When water-soluble potassium peroxodisulfate (KPS) was used initiator, nanoparticles uniformly encapsulated particles, while oil soluble benzoyl peroxide (BPO) system, particles located one side nanospheres. results showed that two mechanisms for nucleation growth involved according to kind polymerization. superparamagnetic highest saturation magnetization 29.78 emu/g corresponding 41.67%. maximum amount carboxyls 0.5594 mmol/g. BSA (bovine serum albumin) test immobilization capacity proteins onto spheres. about 196.2 mg BSA/g. These carboxylated have extensive potential biomedical applications.
