摘要: Great impetus to the investigation of carotenoid biosynthesis was given by introduction Porter and Lincoln (1950) hypothesis that coloured carotenoids were formed sequential dehydrogenation unsaturated polyenes detected in several tomato fruit lines. Since then implications these studies have led a massive exploration which now allows describe different steps biosynthetic pathway. Several reviews (Porter Spurgeon, 1979; Camara Moneger, 1982; 1983; Jones Porter, 1986; Bramley Mackenzie, 1988; Britton, 1988) present pictures our advances this field, but they also inevitably point persistent gaps understanding. A search literature leaves impression as far enzymology underlying basis its control are concerned, little progress has been made there. The lag can be accounted for exceptionally great difficulties such must face. In chapter, we wish consider some recent development area, focusing mainly on higher plants.
