摘要: Abstr act: Population monitoring is central to most demographic studies and conservation efforts, but it may not always be directed at the appropriate life stage. We used stochastic simulation modeling evaluate effectiveness of a program for well-studied population Eastern Imperial Eagles (Aquila heliaca) in Kazakhstan. Specifically, we asked whether data were being collected understand system state dynamics. Our models parameterized with over course 25 years study this population. conduct experiments relationships between monitored or potentially parameters variables interest—population size (N) growth (λ). Static analyses showed that traditional territorybased was poor indicator eagle survivorship would provide more information about these parameters. Nevertheless, same traditionally territory-based had greater power detect long-term changes than did structure. Regardless taxa considered, threats can have immediate impacts on longer-term Prudently designed programs any species will effects both types threats.
