Neuroprotective effects of acetyl-l-carnitine on lipopolysaccharide-induced neuroinflammation in mice: Involvement of brain-derived neurotrophic factor

摘要: Neuroinflammation is the inflammation of nervous tissue that can lead to neurodegeneration. Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) a neurotrophin which affects growth, function and survival neurons, enhances stabilization synapses, regulates synaptic branching dendrites axons. believed be involved in pathophysiology central system (CNS) diseases associated with neuroinflamation. The aim this study was investigate new protective therapeutic effect acetyl-l-carnitine (ALCAR) neuroinflammation. Acetyl-l-carnitine administered into Swiss Albino mice as 100mg/kg/day 300mg/kg/day for 5days. induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS). Histopathological findings ALCAR administration on neuroinflammation brain were determined. Moreover, effects BDNF concentration evaluated. LPS showed higher microglial activation LPS, 100A+LPS 300A+LPS groups compared control (p 0.05). suggest dose at i.p. may have beneficial LPS-induced mice. As conclusion, used an optional neuroprotective agent attenuate inflammatory damage CNS regarding BDNF, dependent manner.
