Chiral metals: amino acid-substituted conducting polypyrroles

摘要: Abstract Chiral amino acid groups are substituted on the 3 position of pyrrole. These functionalized monomers electropolymerized, high conductivity obtained for polymers confirming existence long conjugated chains. The circular dichroism spectra these polypyrroles exhibit a large positive Cotton effect, centered absorption band associated with intrachain bipolaronic transition. results reveal that chains conducting themselves have become chiral, because an induction effect originating from chiral substituents.
