摘要: Circulating human GH (hGH) consists of several molecular isoforms. It was previously reported that the proportion 20 kilodalton hGH (20K-hGH) elevated in serum patients with active acromegaly. In this study, we investigated effects octreotide and transsphenoidal adenomectomy on 20K-hGH 7 acromegalic patients. To achieve an acute effect, (100 microg) subcutaneously injected as a bolus. observe chronic therapy surgery, samples were obtained by repetitive blood sampling before 3 to 8 weeks after treatment. Serum levels 22 (22K-hGH) determined specific enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. A bolus injection elicited parallel decrease 22K-hGH 20K-hGH, resulting unchanged total circulating hGH. The decreased 4 surgery 2 treatment for weeks. positively related mean well levels, but not IGF-I levels. These findings suggest high or per se might elicit change clearance kinetics increase
