摘要: Duplicate genes in mouse are widely thought to have functional redundancy, and be less essential than singleton genes. We analyzed nearly 3900 individually knocked out discovered that the proportion of is ∼55% both singletons duplicates. This suggests mammalian duplicates rarely compensate for each other, absence phenotypes mice deficient a duplicate gene should not automatically attributed paralogous compensation.
