Evaluation of a technique for measurement of flow-mediated vasodilation in healthy ponies

摘要: Objective—To determine between-pony and within-pony variations interobserver intraobserver agreements of a technique for measurement flow-mediated vasodilation (FMD) in healthy ponies. Animals—6 pony mares (weight range, 236 to 406 kg; body condition score 3/9 7/9; age 14 25 years). Procedures—In each pony, the left median artery was occluded with blood pressure cuff (inflated > 300 mm Hg 5 minutes). Two-dimensional ultrasonographic images were recorded 30 seconds before inflation 2 minutes after deflation. Maximum luminal diameters arteries compared their baseline calculate FMD (relative percentage increase size). Images obtained from 6 ponies 1 time times. Independent analysis performed by investigators, whom analyzed on occasions. Results—Mean ± SD (1 time) 12.57 4.28% (6 times) 7.30 2.11%....
