摘要: OBJECTIVE: To determine whether polyxylon bandage contact lenses influence healing time and ocular comfort in the management of spontaneous chronic corneal epithelial defects dogs. METHODS: Twenty dogs with were included. All treated by debridement under topical anaesthesia at first presentation. Ten assigned to study group (application a lens), remaining ten served as control group. The (dis)comfort evaluated assessment clinical findings an owner-based questionnaire. received same systemic medication. RESULTS: Healing for population was significantly shorter (mean 14±0 days) than 36±17 days; P=0·005). had completely healed recheck all lens. duration blepharospasm following 4±4 30±20 P=0·001). CLINICAL SIGNIFICANCE: use is beneficial of spontaneous defects.
